At a young age, Annalee witnessed the challenges seniors face while living with her grandparents (Dad’s father and Mom’s mother) in her childhood home. Annalee’s grandfather, a significant role model, instilled in her the importance of family. Her grandmother, whose health was poor, taught Annalee about grief, loss and how medical issues can affect a senior’s quality of life.
Similar to most caregivers, Annalee’s parents needed to take only a minimal role in caring for her grandparents at first. But over time, the grandparents’ increasing needs demanded more attention and involvement. As Annalee’s parents honored their wishes to avoid a nursing home, they encountered the toll this level of sacrifice requires – ultimately affecting their family, relationships and work-life balance.
Annalee credits her compassion, empathy and in-depth understanding of senior issues to what she witnessed as her parents transitioned from adult children to caregivers of their own parents. Today, Annalee is entering the role of long-distance caregiver to her own parents, and as a result, she understands, firsthand, the guilt and stress associated with the role.
Annalee has spent her entire 25+ year career in the senior care industry and has become a nationally recognized expert in the field of senior care planning having presented at a number of healthcare, senior housing, and financial conferences as well as hosting dozens of webinars.
In addition to Care Right, Annalee has also founded Care Right U which provides specialized training and consulting to caregivers in corporate settings (i.e. home health care providers, senior living facilities). She is also the co-founder of Plan4Life which educates, via its Elder Planning Specialist Program, members of the financial planning industry on the unique skills needed to manage their clients as they get older.
She received her BS in Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa and her MBA from Cardinal Stritch University in Wisconsin. In addition to being a Licensed Social Worker (LBSW), Annalee is a certified Family Mediator with further certificates in Greif, Trauma & Loss as well as PTSD Counseling. Annalee has served as an adjunct faculty member in the Human Services and Organizational Development departments at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee where she also received her Six Sigma Black Belt certification in lean process improvement. Currently, she is in the process of earning her Certified Senior Advisor certificate from the Society of Certified Senior Advisors.
In 2019 Annalee will publish her first book titled The Invisible Patient which outlines the emotional, physical and financial toll experienced by family caregivers.

ARNOLD KRUGER, DIRECTOR
An Iowa native, Arnold Kruger served as a medic in the U.S. Army for two years. In 1965 he joined John Deere, initially as a hydraulic assembler and later as a hydraulic repairman. Arnold served in many company departments as he worked his way up to a supervisory position in 1976, overseeing almost all of the company’s assembly departments. Arnold’s exemplary leadership skills include business development, relationship building, excellent communication, approachability, integrity, fairness, and a wonderful sense of humor. After 30+ years of dedicated service, he retired from Deere in 1998.
He has been married to Sue for over 59 years and they raised their 4 children on a farm in Wellsburg, Iowa. His hobbies include woodcarving, hunting, and fishing. He is an active member of Colfax Presbyterian Church, a Patriot Guard Rider, member of the Cedar Falls Amvents, and a lifetime member of the Parkersburg American Legion. Arnold enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family, which includes five grandchildren.
LAVAL A. PELOQUIN, M.D. – DIRECTOR
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, Dr. Peloquin has spent a lifetime providing care for others. He believes: “Patient care must begin with meeting basic needs while protecting the dignity and integrity of that patient. All other efforts are for naught if these needs aren’t met.”
He was first employed in healthcare more than 40 years ago as an orderly. He kept this position throughout his college years, working to fund his education. Dr. Peloquin attended Georgetown University School of Medicine on scholarship as a U.S. Army officer and began his postgraduate training at the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado. After his internship, he was assigned command of the U.S. Army Health Clinic at the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois.
After finishing his term of military service, Dr. Peloquin completed a residency in family practice at a program affiliated with the University of Iowa. He remains board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Peloquin’s leadership responsibilities included serving as president of Rural Health of Iowa; membership on two hospital executive committees; department chairmanships; ethics and credential committees; consultant and reviewer for a dominant insurance carrier; and member of a multispecialty clinic’s governing board and financial and operations committee.
Among his civic contributions, Dr. Peloquin has been involved in medical education, teaching medical students, resident physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants for more than 30 years. He served as an adjunct professor of medicine for the University of Des Moines. For a decade he served on the Blackhawk County Conservation Board. He is currently a deacon at Cedar Bible Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
DAWN DRELLOS-THOMPSON – ADVISOR
Dawn serves as outside legal counsel for Care Right monitoring and addressing human resource/employment, contracts, HIPAA compliance and other corporate matters for the firm. She is a licensed attorney in Florida, Wisconsin and Washington, D.C., and is also licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court – Eastern District of Wisconsin.
Dawn has a master’s degree in science management, with an emphasis on organizational and business structure, and a graduate certificate in mediation and negotiations. She is a licensed Florida Community Association Manager. She belongs to the Collier County Bar Association as well as the Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate & Trust Law and Employment Law sections.
Dawn is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Lee Elder Abuse Prevention Partnership, and BNI Edison Professionals, and she serves as board member and secretary in her condominium’s sub-association. She is proud of her memberships in the Liberty First Network and the Institute for Justice. She also does volunteer work for the Children’s Home Society of Florida as well as various animal rescue groups.
MIKE SULLIVAN -DIRECTOR
Mike is a senior-level executive with more than 30 years of experience in financial and information services and currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Thomson Reuters Wealth Management. He successfully aligns information systems with business strategy, and he directs information systems, vendor management, and cost control through enhancing productivity while maximizing profitability and developing key talent.
His publications and foundations include co-founder of The Comet Dog Foundation (2009), STP Magazine – The Road to Business Continuance (2002), and IBM – Zero Tolerance (1999). Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He has undertaken extensive internal and external training in the financial securities industry, client relationship management, contract and negotiation skills, project management, and technology.
